“The centuries …have also given the taste important extension. The discovery of sugar and its preparations of alcoholic liquors, wine, ices and vanilla…have given us flavors hitherto unknown…”
Similarly, the paths that great chefs follow provide diners an infinity of culinary discoveries. After hop-scotching from his first stop in the New World, Bermuda, to his “signature” years in New Orleans, Thursday October 11th Chef André’s menu returns to France; more specifically, his native Alsace.
Alsace or Alsace-Lorraine is a difficult region to describe having been divided over centuries by geography, culture and language between two distinctive countries, France and Germany. Ever the arbitrator, André notes you will be pleased to discover menu items from “both sides of the mountain”. One can only eagerly anticipate Jonathan’s handiwork.
